"You've got big dreams. You want fame. Well, fame costs. And right here's where you start paying...in sweat!"

June's edition of our Centre Stage screening series will definitely make you want to live forever, and perhaps even dance on a few cars on the way home.

Directed by Alan Parker, FAME tells the story of a group of kids who enter New York's High School for the Performing Arts with designs on becoming the next big thing. Along the way, they grapple with the tough issues that come with growing up, as well as the more mundane realities like homework and the fact that maybe they're not quite as special or talented as they initially thought.

With a soundtrack anchored by Irene Cara's famous karaoke staple, dancing that will take your breath away, and glimpses of '80s New York City in all its gritty glamour, FAME is a must see on the big screen.

Don't miss the film that Roger Ebert called "a genuine treasure, moving and entertaining, a movie that understands being a teenager."
